Mobile App (iOS)
Optionomics on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch
What the iOS app includes
The Optionomics iOS app provides a native mobile workspace for monitoring the market, researching a symbol, reviewing ideas and commentary, and responding to alerts. On iPhone it uses a compact tab bar; on iPad it uses a persistent sidebar with true split-view layouts built for the larger screen.
Availability: The app is a free download. Feature access follows the active subscription on your Optionomics account. Alerts and push workflows require Gamma or higher; AI Trade Ideas, Commentary, and the AI Assistant require Theta or Vega. Android remains in development; Android users can use the mobile web application and non-push alert channels.
You can sign in three ways:
- Email and password — the same account you use on the web.
- Continue with Google.
- Sign in with Apple (one-tap on iOS).
New accounts are created on the web sign-up page (the app opens it for you). Subscription status syncs automatically from your account—if you bought on the web, the app recognizes it; if you subscribe inside the app, it uses Apple In-App Purchase and syncs back to your web account.
Main navigation (iPhone)
| Tab | What it does |
|---|---|
| Today | The front door: your watchlist strip, a launcher row (Commentary, Ideas, AI Chat, Filings, Dates, Terminal), a calendar week strip, and the market digest |
| Tape | The live feeds—Unusual Activity and Options Flow—with filters and pause/stream controls |
| Stock | Symbol research: Analytics, Chain, Heatmap, News, Earnings, and Filings sections |
| Alerts | Notifications (what fired) and Rules (what you configured—create, edit, pause, delete) |
| Search | Symbol search |
The Terminal opens full-screen from Today or the iPad sidebar rather than living on the tab bar.
Mobile Terminal
The mobile Terminal keeps a symbol header and chart above a switchable lower panel:
- Unusual Activity and Options Flow, with filters and pause/resume controls
- Watchlist for fast symbol changes
- Radar for a compact structural options view
- Scanner for preset-based discovery
- News for symbol and market headlines
The mobile layout is optimized for one focused panel at a time. Use the web Terminal when you want several panels visible simultaneously.
Research surfaces
From the Today launcher (or the iPad sidebar’s Research section):
- Commentary — the live Market Commentary feed (Theta/Vega).
- Ideas — the AI Trade Ideas feed and detail pages with chart, levels, option legs, AI analysis, news, and comments (Theta/Vega).
- AI Chat — the AI Assistant (Theta/Vega).
- Filings — congressional and corporate-insider disclosures.
- Dates — the Market Calendar: earnings and macro events, with earnings analyses one tap away.
iPad
On iPad the app becomes a split-view workspace: a persistent sidebar with the main destinations, the Research section, a Terminal row, and a live Watch list rail. Wide screens show true dual panes—Unusual Activity beside Options Flow on Tape, Notifications beside Rules in Alerts, and two independently selectable Stock sections (for example Analytics next to Chain). Keyboard shortcuts ⌘1–⌘9 jump between sidebar destinations.
Apple Watch and widgets
- Apple Watch: a companion app with three pages—Watchlist, Market, and Ideas—synced from your phone.
- Home-screen widgets: Market Pulse (index quotes), Unusual Activity (top alerts), and Trade Ideas (latest ideas), each deep-linking into the app.
- Live Activity: pin a symbol’s live price to the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island.
Push notifications
Enable push when prompted (or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Optionomics) to receive your alerts on the phone in addition to any other channels you’ve enabled (email, SMS, Slack, Discord, webhook). Tapping a push opens the relevant detail view in the app.
If pushes aren’t arriving:
- Check that the alert has Push (Mobile) enabled in its channel list on the web or in the app.
- Check that Notifications are allowed for Optionomics in iOS Settings.
- Sign out and back in to re-register your device.
Subscriptions inside the app
Subscriptions in the app use Apple In-App Purchase as monthly auto-renewing subscriptions billed through your Apple ID. Standard Apple rules apply:
- Manage or cancel from iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by Optionomics.
- If you change devices or reinstall, use Restore Purchases on the subscription screen.
App Store pricing
Apple displays the current In-App Purchase price and renewal terms before confirmation. App Store and web pricing can differ. You can subscribe on the web and then sign in to the iOS app with the same account; a separate App Store subscription is not required.
If you originally subscribed on the web, keep managing that subscription from the web subscription page—the app will reflect your status either way.
Feedback
You can send feedback directly from the app (Settings → Feedback). It comes straight to the team and is the fastest way to report bugs or suggest improvements.
Important context
- Options trading involves substantial risk—the app shows you data and AI summaries, not personalized investment advice.
- Live data on mobile may briefly lag the desktop experience over flaky networks; pull-to-refresh forces an update.
- The web app remains the best place for the full three-column Terminal, Historical Lab, Strategy Builder, and Backtesting.
Remember: Mobile and web use the same account and entitlements. Choose the layout that fits the task and your screen size.
